iPhone 4 Teardown

The guys over at TechRestore on YouTube have been doing videos for quite a while now, however I was looking through their videos and saw that they had done an iPhone 4 stop motion video. Now get this.. it took over 1700 shots to make the video. Talk about dedication. Good job guys!

iPhone 4 In-Store Review

Today, AJ and I went to Somerset Mall in Troy, MI to see the new iPhone 4. All together it was amazing. With the multitasking and the front facing camera, it was definitely yet another stunning product turned out by Apple. During that time, AJ and I tried a FaceTime call. After fixing the settings and trying a few times, it finally worked. I found it to be kind of choppy and overall low quality video, but the foundation was there and something to build off of. The cameras themselves were simply fantastic. In the future, Apple could probably make a camera using this technology and make a decent amount of money off of it. Another thing was the Retina Display. If you saw it, you would get all of the hype about it. If I look at my iPod Touch’s display, you can see pixels. If you look at an iPhone 4’s display, you see no pixels.

The one problem that I noticed was the glass on the front and back of the phone. Now I know that the plastic on the 3GS was not the best, but glass is not a smart replacement. I have seen some ruggedizing tests and have extrapolated that metal is the best material for iPhones. The first iPhone had a metal back withstood the durability tests better than the 3G/3GS. There have already been incidents where the glass on the iPhone 4 has shattered from small drops. I am not saying it is a bad egg and you shouldn’t buy it, but to try to keep it from dropping as much as you can.

In the end, I found it to be a very good product. Apple has started another revolution and I can’t wait to see whats next.

iPad In-Store Review

Hey readers, it’s Max here at the Somerset Apple Store with a review on the brand new iPad!

Pros: Huge screen, the browser is better, amazing almost full size keyboard, iWork apps, compatible with HTML 5 video very slim, portrait and landscape view, apps specially built to screen size

Cons: a lot smaller in person, still no flash, still expensive, no major change to the OS, still no front facing camera

Overall, I’m still drooling about it, but that’s just me. It’s good for some people and a very good device, but I would wait just a little bit to see if they may come out with v2 with a camera, flash, etc. It’s also a bit pricey with the Mac Mini clocking in at $600 in store.

A Little More Country Than That – iTunes Single of The Week Review

Album Art

Just as the title says, this is most definitely a country tune. As some other reviews on ITMS say, “.. this is a very good style country tune” (Win Noble), and I agree fully. I may not be a big fan of country, but this song is what I would call ‘old school’ country.

For those who enjoy country, this would be another song to add to your vast collection; however, for people like that can only tolerate country to a certain degree, this may help you enjoy country music a little more. Even though its not Coldplay, I would probably add this to a few of my playlists.

In all, not bad for a free song, especially with the past reputation.

Modern Warfare 2 Review

I have had Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 since released and so far it is a pretty good game. The single player story is pretty interesting I thought it was too short. Along with single player, there is a new feature called Spec Ops in which there are side missions that you can play and is pretty addicting.

Multi-player is great, however I think it is mildly annoying since half of the time the network lag isn’t on your side. Then there’s the hackers which ruined multi-player using glitches. But I’m just saying the bad things. The part of multi-player that I enjoy the most is that there are the kill streaks and the new guns they are pretty balanced except for the shotguns and grenade launchers which have been given the nick name “noob tubes”. I would give this game a 8/10 as it is pretty good but mostly feels like CODMW1.5.

Review – Sony DR-BT101 Wireless Headphones

Pros: Wireless, moderately light, controls on the side, built in microphone and call button

Cons: Small lag with sound from video, sound quality not the best, buttons a bit confusing, not many size settings

I got these on Amazon for around $33 brand new. They’re bluetooth so they work with both of my computers, my phone, and my iPod Touch. Over all I would rate them about 2.5 out of 5. They’re a good buy if sound quality is not as important as convenience.
